Honestly, a newsletter was never something on our radar.
It originated on LinkedIn in 2025 as part of a broader effort to increase our brand awareness through social media. Weekly articles were posted, typically whatever was on our mind at the time. Our aim was to have authentic content with an educational tone and some work pictures tossed in. To provide something useful.
The response was unexpected.
The subscriber count exceeded our goal inside of a month along side of (much appreciated) positive feedback. What started as a soft plug for brand awareness was quickly becoming it’s own ‘thing’.
Building on this momentum, we started talking about what could be.
Our company works with many clients on various types of projects. We see, and do, a lot of stuff. Sometimes we’re given clear direction and other times we’re asked to figure something out. So there is no shortage of content.
We also provide a lot of corrosion related training using materials we’ve put together. Sometimes this is a private course and other times it’s speaking at an industry convention. We’ve even helped others put material together they can use for training.
While the LinkedIn platform is an excellent place for a weekly newsletter, we wanted to do more.
Moving to our own platform allows us to still keep our original newsletter with the flexibility to add more content here for anyone interested and without spamming everyone’s inbox each time.
The weekly newsletter is still drafted and sent, while any other content is simply posted here as additional articles.
We also can post training modules, have guest authors, product reviews, and interact with subscribers.
Early in 2026 we began making the move.

Adding (and hosting) content does take time and effort. To offset this we decided to add a premium feature to access additional items while keeping the weekly newsletter free to all. We set up 3 tiers:
Visitor: Access to the current newsletter and a handful of previous issues.
Free Subscriber: Access to the current newsletters as well as a full archive of previous issues. Includes additional articles that were not in the weekly newsletter.
Paid Subscriber: Everything above plus: Deep dives into some advanced topics, some product reviews, some training material, and the unique ability to request specific topics for articles. Plus knowing that you’re supporting the content creation.
Anything else we think of will be added to the Paid Subscriber tier. And we think a lot.
Even becoming a free subscriber helps us promote this content. The more “official” subscribers we have, the better reach our newsletter can get. A larger audience attracts more guest authors, more product reviews, more article requests, etc.
Our goal remains to have authentic content with an educational tone. To provide something useful.
